WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE
2 IDEAS FROM ME
At night the Everest summit ridge follows an eratic path into the Milky Way Galaxy. Falling to the right is a 12,000 ft fatal trip into Tibet. Falling to the left is a fatal 8,000 ft drop into Nepal. It was like climbing a lightening bolt of rock and ice into the stars. Mountaineering wilderness experiences have changed my life and created a sense of sacred awe.
Wilderness is a source of spiritual insight, energy, and wonder.
2 QUOTES FROM SAGES
“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” —John Muir
“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”—Henry David Thoreau (Walden)
